her story.

She sat on the couch with a thousand things she should be doing on her mind, avoiding them all.

It wasn’t that she didn’t care, but that she didn’t have it in her to show that she cared.

Do the laundry, cook, clean, get some work done-- or, drift away into somebody else’s world.

Fall in love with a story that somebody else is living, or well, pretending to live.

Is that really all there is to life?

Pretending to be something, someone, we are not?

She knows that this is not the answer to the unknown truth.

Life must be worth living for other reasons than those that society paints a portrait of and tells us all to strive for.

She dreams about achieving accomplishments that she wishes to for herself— one of these days it will happen.

And she knows, she has to make it happen, on her own.

So she will.
